Working in recruitment, every day is different.  It can be a very fast-paced industry and in many cases extremely rewarding.  After all when people are your business anything can happen.

My background is selling at all levels in the Shipping, Transport and Packaging industries over the past 12 years. The majority of these years were successfully selling for SME’s before sharpening my Key Account Management and strategic thinking at a corporate level. 
 
I‘m definitely an “active relaxer”; I love cooking (still learning!) Playing all sorts of sports like tennis, squash, snowboarding and mountain biking.

I love nothing more than people being successful. Prior to recruitment, I worked predominantly in Sales & Marketing roles which has given me great commercial acumen. Away from work, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. You may also find me at race tracks around New Zealand as I am the main driver of a new initiative to develop young talent in motorcycle racing.

Recruiting for business is the most rewarding career move I made. I have a wealth of Senior Business Management experience gained from driving my own business until the successful sale of this in 2005. After a rewarding introduction to recruitment with Focus in 2006, I moved onto an international recruitment company, furthering my recruitment experience and using my knowledge of Operations Management to specialise in Supply Chain and Procurement. Having thoroughly enjoyed working with Tony, I jumped at the opportunity to join him in expanding Focus with a Technical and Operations division.
I strongly believe in working with clients to attract the best candidates, which I achieve by taking time to fully understand their business.  By working with a professional recruiter to formulate the best solution, clients are able to spend time doing what they do best while still attracting the best candidate for their business.
Having access to a large network of people is one of the keys to sourcing top candidates so I am always pleased to hear from those looking to progress their career. 
When not working, I enjoy being an armchair sportsman and giving back by being actively involved in my community. When time allows, I enjoy spending time on the Hauraki Gulf fishing, or just enjoying the world’s best natural playground.

The part I play in the friendly team at Focus Recruitment is that of Sales Support. As part of my role, I get to see firsthand the positive effects and outcomes that are achieved daily by the Recruitment Consultants. Working with people who love what they do and are totally committed to achieving the best results for both clients and candidates makes Focus an inspiring place to come each day.
 
I come from a bit of a different background, in that I studied Visual Arts. I have a Bachelor of Visual Art majoring in painting and a Post Graduate Diploma in Art & Design from AUT. Although I may not seem like the typical person for this role, I'm finding it to be so much more than what I expected and I'm enjoying being able to use my creativity while helping the team get the most out every day.
 
In my time away from work, I am continually pursuing and evolving my art practice. I enjoy spending quality time with my friends and huge Lebanese family and I love music, film and cute small animals.
